GASH membership increases to 89 members
Online Advertising body GASH has announced that it’s membership will be raised to 89 full members following the latest round of multiple choice test audits. A spokesperson for the organisation, which is affiliated to the internet advertising debacle (IAD) commented,
“This is great news for the industry. This latest round of audits was the firmest yet, with members having to answer 5 questions [multiple choice], and promise that they would be good for the next 6 months. This is a clear indication that our processes are having a real effect on the market and is a force for good.”
GASH has been running since 2008, and was set up to self regulate ad networks. It is a non profit organisation, which charges only £10,000 every 6 months for members to have their names added to a list of “good blokes to buy stuff from”. With only 82 networks operating in the UK, GASH has certainly done very well for itself.
It has been pointed out that no-one has every failed any of the audits, which ask members to submit campaign bookings of their choosing (up to 5) and answer multiple choice questions about how they delivered. The GASH spokesperson was quick to rebuff the allegation saying,
“Be under no illusion, if a member submitted a deal that they couldn’t answer the questions about we would have very strong words and ask the membership to vote on whether we tell on them or not.”
The latest members are posted on the GASH website, and frankly we don’t have enough room to print them all here.
